History

The Ohio State Alumni Club of Richland County is one of great pride due to its dedication to service to the university, in the community and to alumni.  Our club was bestowed the great honor of being honored as an Outstanding Alumni Club in 2017.

Our origins date back to a partnership with The Ohio State University at Mansfield. In 1980, we held the first Buckeye Bash at the Lierderkranz in Mansfield, Ohio.  The purpose of the Buckeye Bash was to raise money for a scholarship to be awarded annually to students attending The Ohio State University at Mansfield.

The success of that first Buckeye Bash carried on and grew from year to year. The club broadened its scope and undertook many initiatives such as acting as ambassadors to new and returning students, hosting game day gatherings, giving to local charities that students could benefit, volunteering in the community, organizing personal development activities for alumni and sharing the excitement of being a Buckeye along the way!
